Adios Madre - Prologue
Before I came to be, I already was - in your heart. Of your love you made me; such was my fortune, my start. And with my love you depart to reside in His eternal memory whom you served so faithfully. With beloved father and close kin, I remain behind and this fateful day we gather resigned with sadness and blind, our lives inextricately entwined, your remains and our grief to rest in our Mother Earth's loving breast. How I miss you now Mother! for me, you were like no other! I so miss you now, I cannot swallow! Even speak! Alone in my grief I wallow! So much left unsaid. Too late did I realise, instead of forlorn and afraid your end to materialise, of unuttered good-byes, your smiles I ought have cherished, your caresses taken ere you vanished. I leave you now, mi bella madre. Rest. I will always love you. May my own peace come too, and soon, como la de mi padre.
