Mirror, mirror |
---|
he married an ocean
impersonated her waves
to remind jealous lovers
of how tempests are made
he mocked the clouds
by whistling the sounds of rain
and laughed as the birds took cover
huddling in the trees nearby
his best impression was of joy
when he laughed at the gods
for pretending to shield men
under their gentle wings
but his clever shenanigans
were born of disillusionment
that he never was a thing himself
but only a mirror for others
