Verizon Wifi
Verizon Wifi before me a black frame in the frame shifting pictures a picture of the boy I loved like a son -- smilies before a bowl of ramen and I recalled what it was like to eat and for a second felt a longing to eat just once more the frame shifts a picture of my beloved veiled in pink blossoms with a look in the eye inviting and warm -- suffused with human love and I remembered the caring and affection that creature was capable of and for a moment I was lost in the feeling of being loved again the frame shifts to another image this time of me, hair wild and free and a relaxed, carefree smile on my face and I remembered myself that I too enjoyed something once felt something, was human the frame kept shifting my boy in a tuxedo my love a proud mother a picture of a map, near Kilauea then butterflies and flowers my son's beautiful bride-to-be a cold winter day outside after a day of skiing a stone Buddha seated with a lei of orchids round his neck an image of me cuddling a kitten the magnificent profile of a feline lover and ancient master a water lily in brilliant violets and purples a shot of the place I once called home where I was the happiest in my short life there were more pictures images of dried mud of friends, and people I worked with a plate of cheese, a pile of Christmas gifts of waterfalls, a serene lake rose petals on our bed and a myriad kisses with the girl who turned my house into a home and gave me a family larger-than-life reminders of the richness of the life I once led that came with a profound nostalgia in the middle of this reverie a Verizon salesman knocked on the door interrupting to offer faster cheaper service but his system couldn't find my house address so he wasted both of our time [29-I-2024]
